What we record
Our interests include music, oral traditions and everyday soundscapes. For each recording, we want to know who performed it, how it is used locally and what the contributor considers important.
The recording date and place, contributor credits and conditions for sharing belong with the audio. They help people understand and use the material later.

Retain the originals and a record of transfers and edits. Store descriptions, credits and source notes alongside the digital files.
Plan for long-term access
Long-term access needs reliable copies, regular file checks and clear conditions for listening, study and reuse.
03 / COLLABORATION
Agreeing on the session
Performers and local contributors help choose the material and describe its background. AKARA handles recording, editing and digital file preparation.
Contributors should be involved in deciding the description, credits and future uses. Recording, public sharing and commercial licensing require separate agreements.
04 / THE CATALOG
Music licensing & sample packs
Material can be offered for licensing only when it is suitable for public use and the necessary permissions are in place. Permission to record does not by itself cover commercial use.

Listen to tracks for films, advertising and other productions. Choose a license that covers the project, client and intended use.
